Raffaella Mangiarotti

Raffaella Mangiarotti lives and works in Milan.
She graduated with honors in Architecture with Tomàs Maldonado from the Politecnico di Milano in 1991. In 1994 she obtained a doctorate in Environmental design. In 1999 she founded the deepdesign studio with matteo bazzicalupo designing household appliances and consumer electronics for the largest companies internationally. She holds more than 20 patents. She also works alone, especially in the furniture, complement and creative direction sectors.
Some of her products are exhibited in museums and are part of the permanent collections and have been awarded the main international design awards. Her projects have been exhibited in both collective and personal exhibitions internationally.

Raffaella Mangiarotti has received several awards, in particular the Young & Design Award (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000), Cosmopack (1995, 1996), Esaedro (1997), the ID Award (2004, 2008), the Selezione Compasso d’Oro (2005) and Green Dot Award (2009). Her projects are featured in numerous magazines and publications. In December 2009 the Triennale in Milan dedicated to her a solo exhibition.
